Kill switch
The emergency kill switch blocks every governed agent action at once. It is checked before anything else, including rules, permissions and approvals. Raqvio Agent Guardrails’s three read-only informational abilities (such as raqvio-ag/get-my-permissions) keep working, so agents can see that the switch is on.
Turn it on or off
Section titled “Turn it on or off”| Where | How | Expiry |
|---|---|---|
| Admin bar (every wp-admin and front-end page) | Agents → Turn kill switch on (block all agents) / Turn kill switch off (allow agents) | None — stays on until turned off |
| Dashboard | Block all agents, or Block for 1 hour / Turn off | “Block for 1 hour” turns off automatically |
| Settings → Governance | Emergency kill switch toggle, then Save settings | None |
While it is on, the admin bar item reads Agents blocked on a red background, and other admin screens show “Raqvio Agent Guardrails kill switch is on: all AI agent actions are blocked.” Every manual toggle is recorded in the audit log (the automatic end of “Block for 1 hour” is not).
What agents see
Section titled “What agents see”Blocked calls fail with error code raqvio_ag_blocked (HTTP 403) and the message “Blocked by Raqvio Agent Guardrails: The Raqvio Agent Guardrails emergency kill switch is on: all AI agent actions are blocked.” Agents can check the state beforehand: raqvio-ag/get-my-permissions returns kill_switch: true.
With Pro, approvals can’t be approved while the kill switch is on (“The kill switch is on. Turn it off before approving agent actions.”).
