Minimum Notes
WordPress 6.9 The Abilities API arrived in 6.9. Tested up to 7.1.
Enforcement WordPress 7.1 On 6.9 and 7.0 Raqvio Agent Guardrails runs in audit-only mode (see below).
PHP 8.1 On older PHP the plugin shows a notice and does not load.
WooCommerce Optional, 10.0+ Needed for catalog readiness, the Merchant Center feed and the refund ability. Tested up to 11.1.
Refund ability WooCommerce 10.9+ raqvio-ag/order-create-refund registers through WooCommerce’s ability interface.

Raqvio Agent Guardrails declares compatibility with WooCommerce HPOS (custom order tables).

  1. In wp-admin, go to Plugins → Add New Plugin and search for Raqvio Agent Guardrails, or upload the plugin zip with Upload Plugin.
  2. Click Activate.

On activation Raqvio Agent Guardrails creates its database tables, adds its capabilities to administrators, creates the AI Agent (Raqvio Agent Guardrails) role and the built-in Site AI agent, and saves default settings.

Raqvio Agent Guardrails must be activated on each site individually. Network activation is refused with the message “Raqvio Agent Guardrails must be activated on each site individually, not network-wide.” Each site keeps its own agents, policies and audit log.

WordPress 7.1 added the hook Raqvio Agent Guardrails uses to stop an ability before it runs. On 6.9 and 7.0 Raqvio Agent Guardrails still identifies agents and evaluates every call, and records what it would have decided, but it cannot block anything:

  • a warning explains that Raqvio Agent Guardrails is in audit-only mode;
  • audit entries show the decision with “(not enforced)”;
  • the kill switch is recorded as “Kill switch on (not enforced: requires WordPress 7.1).”

Update to WordPress 7.1 or newer to enforce permissions, the kill switch and approvals.

If the Abilities API is missing entirely (WordPress older than 6.9), Raqvio Agent Guardrails shows “Raqvio Agent Guardrails needs the WordPress Abilities API (WordPress 6.9 or newer). Nothing is being governed.”

  • Administrators can manage Raqvio Agent Guardrails and approve agent actions.
  • Shop managers can manage Raqvio Agent Guardrails only if you turn on Settings → Access & data → Let shop managers manage Raqvio Agent Guardrails. They can never approve agent actions.
  • Raqvio Agent Guardrails’s own settings can only be changed from a logged-in wp-admin session of someone who can manage Raqvio Agent Guardrails. Requests authenticated with an application password are refused, even for administrators — so an agent can’t change its own guardrails.
  • Deactivating stops Raqvio Agent Guardrails’s background jobs and keeps all data.
  • Deleting the plugin removes data only if Settings → Access & data → Delete all Raqvio Agent Guardrails data when the plugin is uninstalled is on. Then Raqvio Agent Guardrails drops its tables, deletes its options, cached data, feed files, capabilities and the AI Agent role, including everything Raqvio Agent Guardrails Pro created. With the setting off (the default), data is kept.
